This policy describes how information is handled when you use Kit, a set of utilities published as a static website and built to run in your browser.
Core idea
Kit is designed so that work on your files happens on your device. We do not run an application server that receives, stores, or analyzes the contents of documents, images, or media you open in the tools.
What Kit does not do
When you use the tools (for example, merging PDFs or compressing images):
- Your files are not uploaded to a Kit backend for processing.
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use advertising SDKs or cross-site tracking for ads.
Information that may exist around the service
1. Data that stays on your device
Your browser may store limited information locally, such as:
- Appearance preferences (light, dark, or system)
- Language choice
- Favorites or pinned tools
- History summaries (which tool you used, roughly when, a short description)—not the contents of your files
- Presets you choose to save
You can clear history in Settings or by deleting this site’s data in your browser.
2. Network and hosting logs
Kit is typically hosted as static files (for example on GitHub Pages). When your browser requests pages and assets, the host may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs. That logging is controlled by the host’s infrastructure and policies—not by a Kit server that opens your documents.
3. Optional third-party resources
Some advanced features may load processing libraries (for example FFmpeg WebAssembly cores or PDF worker scripts) from content delivery networks the first time you use them. Those requests may expose standard network metadata to the CDN. Your file contents are still processed in the browser; the CDN serves library code, not your documents.
Progressive Web App (PWA)
If you install Kit or allow offline use, a service worker may cache the application shell (pages, scripts, styles, icons). Kit is not designed to store your personal files in that cache.
Children
Kit is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and because Kit does not offer accounts, we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a registration system.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use of Kit after an update means you have reviewed the revised policy.
